This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Almost one third of his time, the young doctor is busy with reassuring patients, while research suggests that patients have forgotten the majority of what the doctor has said the moment they leave. And half of what little the patients claim to remember is incorrect. ‘Doctor Google’ is just as incapable of removing all insecurities. Therefore, William van Dijk has set up an interactive comparison system for patients. Recovery is a shared responsibility, not only that of a doctor. William van Dijk is a trauma surgeon in Venlo. In his 9 years of experience as a doctor, he noticed that patients almost always enter his practice in a very insecure way.About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
