Margriet Smulders got a prestigious commission: making a 20x4m mural on the outside wall of the Bommel-van-Dam Museum in Venlo, Holland. In the preparation phase she had a residency in Evoramonte, Portugal, where she experimented on a wall of the Cultural Centre of foundation OBRAS. Besides recurring themes as water and flowers, she used a poem of Pessoa as source of inspiration. In both Portugal and Holland she was assisted by Lys Vosselman and Lola Bezemer.
